In Memory of Mother Mary
1940 – 1994
Mom always dreamed of going to the East Coast ~ to Vermont. She wanted to see all those beautiful fall colors! The opportunity to fulfill this dream was cut way short. Mary grew up in a South Central Washington. Born and raised in Goldendale, WA, and staying in Goldendale for all her years, she had a love for birds, particularly blue birds. Her husband (yes DAD) built numerous birdhouses and birdfeeders. She had a collection of Fenton glass birds, sandstone and glass birds., that she enjoyed looking at and holding. The bluebird travel bug is a bird from this collection. It comes from the “Bluebird capital of the World” ~ Bickelton, Washington.
You’re somewhere over the rainbow, Mom, and I miss you. Thanks for all the times in the outdoors, camping at Mount Adams and picking huckleberries, and finding ways to live life to the fullest even in the shadow of death.
Items to remain: Logbook, geocaching information sheet, and logbook’s pen and pencil. Please take a picture with the disposable camera. I will monitor the cache, develop and post pictures when camera is ‘finished’.
Original cache includes: Glass bluebird travel bug (destination Vermont!), Moun10bike geocoin, red white and blue beaded USA flag pin (thanks Karen), Fisher Price toddler toys: McDs phone and phone on wheels, bead ball, soft bluebird, strut the rooster MIB, Winnie The Pooh figurine, Woody head (I’ve lost my head), squirty green fish, yellow bouncy ball, pink headed smiling thing, little happy yellow rubber ducky, house magnet, a 16 pack of crayons and a handful of merriment.
Explore the system of trails that lead you to the cache. There is also a "BPA" trail for bikers and cyclists. A good place to bring your family and Fido!
