Elevation 1405m.
The Ruginoasa (Rusty) Hole represents a particular erosion phenomenon. It is a huge ravine dug up into the crest of the summit that closes to the South the Seaca valley, encompassing over 100 m in depth and 600 m in diameter. All over its surface, a very active erosion process brought to daylight the quartz strata, whose redish-violet colour gives the area a special appearance, like an open wound in the mountain, seen from great distances.
Sharp edges, like razors, converge to its centre where a small valley forms. This is the origin of the Seaca valley, which transforms into a canyon almost impossible to surpass due to its waterfalls.
