Langnes skole er den nyeste ungdomsskolen i Tromsø kommune. De første elevene startet opp høsten 2004. Elever i fra barneskolene Workinnmarka, Mortensnes, Solneset og Hamna skole begynner på 8.trinn på Langnes. Skolen er en baseskole delt inn i 7 læringsbaser med rundt 70 elever på hver base som er aldersblandet. Disse deles inn ulike gruppestørrelser i ulike læringssituasjoner. På en base er det auditorium, stort læringsrom, og mindre grupperom. Lærerens arbeidsrom er tilknyttet basen. Langnes school is the newest school in Tromsø. The first students started in autumn 2004. Pupils from primary schools workinnmarka, Mortensnes, Solneset and Hamna school starts on the 8.Grade Langnes. The school is a base school and it is divided into seven teaching bases with about 70 students on each base that is mixed-age.
