Geocache Description:

Cache is located in Galilee at Salty Brine Sate Beach, an easy walk from the Block Island Ferry. The beach is named after legendary radio personality Salty Brine and now home to a new wind turbine. On a clear day Block Island is visible directly off the beach. Sit on the jetty and watch the boats (including the Block Island ferries) head in and out of Point Judith Pond. This site is worth a visit summer or winter!

As part of the bath pavilion renovation completed in the spring of 2010, the wind turbine supplies 100% of power used by the pavilion. The beach looks out on the Harbor of Refuge, 3 sections of rock wall built by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1910 as a safe haven for boats during high seas.
