UPDATE: The shiny brand new Willie Walleye is in place. Willie has been greeting folks since June 21, 1959 but by 2017 he was showing his age. The regular patching and painting was no longer good enough. A committee was formed to spearhead replacement of the statue with a fiberglass reproduction and bring Willie back to his former glory.
The most photographed spot in the county. Willie gets repainted summer 2012. New plaque dedicated November 23 , 2013. The aged Box Elder on the north side of Willie was removed March 11, 2015. The new Willie is installed! July 11, 2018 Dedication ceremony for the new Willie Walleye August 23, 2018 *Missing number** is 8.
