Geocache Description:

A place of considerable significance to us.

We have a family tie that links back through a great grandmother and an uncle buried here. They link us back to the gold fields of Gabriel's Gully and the Blue Spur.

Rattrays and Robinsons who came from Scotland and England, via Australian goldfields to Gabriel's Gully. A great grandmother who spent most of her married life in Gabriel's/Blue Spur and an uncle who was born there and died there as a child.

We picked up a piece of rock from an area near Gabriel's Gully and placed it, appropriately we thought, on top of the cache container.

Some of the Robinson clan went on to Runanga (Greymouth) to continue as miners in coalfields instead of in goldfields

The container is a 200ml green systema with the usual logbook, pencil & sharpener.
