Geocache Description:

Along Highway 3, just west of Salmo, B.C.

This is our version of the 10 year anniversary celebration. The Kootenay Pirates hid an almost perfect 10. Well, we opted for the much simpler Roman Numeral 10, yes an X - thus X marks the spot for the five stand alone caches. Enjoy the leisurely walk around this decommisioned park. All caches can be gotten by following old trails or roads.

During our hunt for cache locations, we found an old stubby beer bottle -- (from Dyelo's youth?). Over the years trading items have evolved from dollar store items to buttons and pins, pathtags, signature items and personal geocoins. As well, hides have changed from a non-descript pile of rocks or parallel sticks to really quite sinister camoflage. Sometimes, we just like to keep it simple, yes you have to love parallel sticks! As well, some of our early hides used latin for plant ID, so this is a fall back to the past.

You are looking for a camo-d tobacco tin (we like to call it a pirate container). The usual stash note, log book, and trading items are in place.
