Geocache Description:

The cache is set on a picnic course between Tegatayama Park to Akita Onsen (spa).

The New Oku no Hosomichi is a small path and named after famous Japanese Haiku poem writer MATSUO Bashou's travelogue. The path runs across the Tegatayama mountain from Miyoshi Shrine (GC25BFE) to Akita spa. About this leg see the Google Maps (visit link) .

Around the cache spot is junction of the ways from Tegatayama Park water distribution facility (0.5 mi), Tegatayama Danchi residental area (0.7 mi) and Akita spa (1 mi). The place had ever been a top of Tegatayama ski ground until 1960s. There's a stratum two triangulation point. Also we can take rest at a small house.

This point is very nice for family hiking (even easy for children), but not suggested in snowy season, rainy and typhoon day or at night. Mobile phones may be available. Also around there you may meet very dangerous wild bear. Please bring noisy things (bell or radio) to scare bear away. Also be careful of poisonous snake (pit vipar), plants (such as japan) and insects (tussock moth and catapillar). You can access using bicycle but bike/car are inhibited.

The cache container is 2 litter tupperware.

『新奥の細道』は秋田市内の山道の小経です。松尾芭蕉の紀行に由来する名前が付けられています。小経は三吉神社(GC25BFE)から秋田温泉に至る手形山を縦断しています。この区間については地図を参照してください。 (visit link)

ポイント付近は、手形山公園(水道山)配水池 (700m)、手形山住宅 (1.1km) および秋田温泉 (1.5km) からの3つの経路の交点です。かつて1960年代までは、ここをゲレンデの頂点とする手形山スキー場がありました。また二等三角点が付近にあり、休憩所があります。

このキャッシュポイントおよび経路は、家族連れでも楽しめる良いピクニックの場所ですが、積雪がある場合、雨や台風の時期、日没が迫っているときなどは控えてください。携帯電話の電波は感度があります。また熊の出没地帯ですから、音を発するもの(鈴やラジオ)などを持参するとよいでしょう。他にマムシ、ウルシなどのかぶれる植物、ドクガなどには気をつけてください。自転車のアクセスは可能ですが、車両・バイクの乗り入れは禁じられています。

キャッシュの外装は2リットルのタッパーです。
