Geocache Description:

Built in 1937, this small-scaled cantilever truss bridge (one of a few remaining nation-wide) connecting Iowa Route 394 & Missouri Supplemental Route B over the Des Moines River. The St. Francisville Bridge, one of Iowa's few privately owned crossings, was operated as a toll bridge up until 2003. When the bridge was converted to a free bridge, as a result of the reduced traffic caused by the new highway (SR-27) bypassing the bridge. This cache was placed for the HNS 2010 event.
