Geocache Description:

This cache is placed along the Saratoga Toll Road connect to the Skyline to the Sea Trail. I found there was nothing between Hwy 9 and 236 and set out to correct this. This cache is loaded with a titanium spork, "Bytemobile's" Sigitem, a couple key chain LED lights, cordage, bungee, small clothes pins and some 'emergency rubber bands.' Trail Head is Hwy 9 mile marker 19.67 Parking is limited.

Due to the CZU lightening Complex Fire the PGE power poles were lost... here's the final hide location. Maybe one day I'll get up there to recreate the puzzle. N 37° 12.330 W 122° 09.039 The location of the cache. Under a log behind a burned log that looks like bench. The bench is located next to a group of Redwoods and comfortably in the shade. Bring a pencil and paper and don't forget a compass. The coordinate ,location is not where you will find the cache but will provide hints to discovery. I give the terrain only a two as you're on maintained trail from the trail head. There is a good amount of elevation increase from the jump off point and several other ways into the site. Look for some very odd trees roughly at the halfway point. Once you find the odd trees you will discover they are labeled "A" "B" and "C". Find the T on each tree and you will see eight rows of numbers below. I see a table when looking at the trees and this is how you will find the coordinates that will lead you to the cache. If you label the column with the letter (nothing to do with the coordinate) and the rows from top to bottom starting with one (top) and going to eight (bottom), you will have the means of finding the jump off point N 37 AB . CDE W122 FG . HIJ A = A3+B4-B8-C2 B = C8+B2+A2 C = A4-B4+A2 D = C1+A1-C7+A8 E = A6+C1+C5-B8 F = C8+B3-B5 G = A5+B6-A8 H = C3-B5+A2 I = B6+B7-C7 J = A7+C4-A4 Not really too tough so don't get stumped. When you locate the coordinates then break out your compass and take a bearing of 60 degrees and venture off trail about 150 feet. Congrats Michael_SFBA FTF
