Geocache Description:

We have placed this cache in an area for those interested in horseplay. It is at the Capel Equestrian Centre under the cover of a small stand of trees on the corner of Goodwood and Warns road. You will find the cache very close to the tree, not covered but camouflaged. It has a logbook and pencil. Name & date only - no room for trackables.

Capel retains the feel of a small Australian country town, friendly and safe. Roughly halfway between Bunbury and Busselton, Capel offers easy access to either town for shopping, business or entertainment.

The resources industry is a major source of employment in the region and Capel is very close to several large mineral sands mining operations. Local agricultural businesses also provide employment. Capel is home to the Challenge Dairy Co-operative, an independent collective with processing and marketing operations, set up to support South West dairy farmers.

The cultural life of Capel is strong, and many families have descendants who have been in Capel since European settlement in 1836. More recently, people have been enticed to move to Capel, attracted by job opportunities and the rural lifestyle.

Capel has an active sporting and cultural life. There are many sporting, arts and community groups in town, offering a diverse range of activities. The annual Capel Fest and Art Classic is a major regional event, attracting up to 15,000 visitors to town every April.

Capel is a working town, but it sits amid rolling paddocks, it’s only five minutes to Peppermint Grove Beach, a popular holiday spot, and the nearby tuart forest national park provides visitors with the chance to view wildflowers and the world's last remaining tuart forest.
