Geocache Description:

This is a series of eleven caches on a ‘P’ shaped five mile circuit located between Ufton and Southam. The Caches are named after the cars which took part in the Cartoon series ‘The Wacky Races’ which was produced by Hanna-Barbera and first raced in 1968.

From Ufton the route heads towards extensive woodland, then on to the Stoney Thorpe Estate, the home of a large polo ground. The next point of interest is the Holy Well on the outskirts of Southam, before changing direction to head back to Ufton.

The caches are all of a good size with room for TB’S, Coins and swag (except the Turbo terrific No 9) All have Logbook, pencil and pencil sharpeners.
Starting behind the church in Ufton, Park in White hart lane near the public house.
1 The start of the footpath begins on White Hart lane, through the first gate and a short distance until the next gate, at this gate, head approximately at a 45 Degree angle to reach the next gate in the corner of the field, next to Ufton wood. From here follow the public footpath, just outside ufton wood, which goes along the side of the field. Keep on this path until you reach the road.
2 Turn right and cross road to a stile, and then go forward to
Walk on perimeter of horse paddocks with hedge on right.
Climb stile to go on beneath trees, polo fields on the right
Behind hedge. Continue beside hedge, then climb stile and
Bear right over large field to corner.
3 Take stile and walkers' gate and walk into the Stoney Thorpe Estate, now with polo ground in full view and the
clubhouse in the background. Walk on between polo fields,
fenced on either side, with Stoney Thorpe Hall peeping out from the trees ahead. Cross a track to take a stile into
meadow, head on a 45 degree angle to reach next stile.
4 Take stile and walk beside stream that is still and stagnant, in an area that is eerily quiet and beautiful.
Continue over stile and footbridge.
5 Stay with the course of the stream, turning left when it
branches off. Take stile and bear left to another, to
continue in two meadows.
6 Take kissing-gate beside Holy Well to continue, still
following the course of the stream. Take gate to walk in
long meadow, now above stream.
7 Turn right over ornate footbridge and take the right of two
paths, now on other side of stream, gradually walking
uphill. Look back on a lovely scene of trees and field
patterns, the spire of Southam Church rising above it all.
Go ahead through crop field, passing a derelict stone
building. Climb stile and bear left towards a copse, then
cross a tree-lined drive to continue on wild and desolate
land where there is a mystical atmosphere.
8 Go through two metal gates to reach the road and turn
Right along it for short distance. Take footpath on right going down some rough steps. Follow this path until you join the footpath you have just walked along turn left here and follow path back to the start.
