Baxter's Dog Run Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Marko Ramius: Since there does not appear to have been any response to the logs posted to this cache page, I can only assume that the cache owner is either MIA or is not willing or able to perform normal maintenance on this listing. Accordingly, I am archiving the listing to remove it from search pages and to allow for new caches in this area. If you would like to correct the issues for this cache, you can either create a new cache page or send me an e-mail with the GCxxxx code for this cache listing and I will un-archive it and review it again.

Thank you for your understanding and for your contributions to Geocaching.

Geocache Description:

This is a some-what easy 2 part multi. The cache has room for small items and coins. Plenty of close parking and good for day or night caching. A TOTT may be helpful. After talking with some frustrated, experienced cachers, I decided to increase difficulty rating (after all, there is more than one place where WP1 can be). Bring your own pen.

This cache is named after my Search & Rescue dog, Baxter. He is a Golden Retriever who was provided by the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation for the Los Angeles County Fire Department and is a member of California Task Force 2. Baxter and I have been teamed up since March 2006 and have been deployed several times already, including Texas (Hurricanes Gustav & Ike) and Haiti (Earthquake Jan 2010). We are assigned to Fire Station 30 in Cerritos and on occasions, I take Baxter to this area for some exercise. Normally, muggles are not a problem at the final GZ. This could be a quick P & G if you are looking in the right place.

The National Disaster Search Dog Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Ojai, CA. They rescue dogs and train them to be rescuers and they team them up with firefighters across the country. Currently, the NDSDF has provided approx 100 canines to different USAR teams. Visit their site for more details on Baxter and all the other Search Teams (searchdogfoundation.org)

***Congrats to Squishypets on a well earned FTF***
