Prepare yourself for a journey through Laurel’s past, and
learn about historic locations were hidden from you within your own
community. This is a puzzle cache developed for the Laurel
Historical Society. There are six locations that you must visit in
order to collect the information to reach the final coordinate, so
it is recommended that you insert the provided points into your GPS
before you start your journey. This will help ensure that your
adventure goes as smoothly as possible. Below is the name that
hints at the first location, the coordinates, and the clue that you
will need to solve at that location. As you collect the
information, fill in the blanks and replace the letter within each
clue, and then replace the corresponding letter for the final
location. Please enjoy, and don’t forget to check out the
walking trail at the Laurel Historical Society’s museum (817
Main Street)!
This tour was developed as part of an Eagle Project to benefit
the Laurel Historical Society. LHS is a nonprofit organization
that’s primary goal is to educate people of Laurel’s
history. Based in a museum that has changing themes, LHS works with
the community to preserve and restore historical parts of Laurel.
In order to aid them in their goal, this tour was designed in order
to help attract people to their museum. In addition to this
journey, there is a smaller version along Main Street that is
available at the Laurel Historical Society. It is designed for both
individuals and youth groups, so please try it out. You will need a
driver’s license to borrow the trail packet and GPS, and
after there are special patches available for purchase. Enjoy
fellow geocachers, and this is one tour you want to let the muggles
know about.
