Stolperstein Paul Dieroff

Paul Dieroff (english description below)

Dieser Mystery Cache erinnert an den Schüler Paul Dieroff, der ab 1938 in Niendorf lebte und im Konzentrationslager ermordet wurde. Er wurde nur 16 Jahre alt.

Dieser Mystery hat 3 Stationen: Die Anfangskoordinaten, den Stolperstein (Stage 1) und den Final. Er kann mit Kindern zu Fuß in ca. 60 Minuten erledigt werden. Die Terrain Wertung bezieht sich NUR auf den Final, d.h. der gesamte Weg kann sehr gut mit dem Kinderwagen etc. erledigt werden. Es empfiehlt sich aber das Fahrrad, öffentliche Verkehrsmittel o.ä. Bei der Dose handelt es sich um die klassische Ammo-Box.

Start:
Die Anfangskoordinaten sind willkürlich und haben nichts mit dem Cache zu tun.

Stage 1:
Es gibt mehre Möglichkeiten um Stage 1 zu absolvieren:

1) Schwierigkeit = 1,5. Recherche Vor Ort:

Suche den Stolperstein von Paul Dieroff. Berechne folgende Variablen mit Hilfe des letzten Datums (Format: AB.AC.----) auf dem Stolperstein:

Dann berechnen sich daraus:
X=B
Y=C+B
Z=2*C+A

2) Schwierigkeit = 3. Recherche im Internet:

Transportnummer von Hamburg nach Theresienstadt = AB/C

Dann berechnen sich daraus (Achtung Umrechnung der lateinischen Ziffern!):

X=A
Y=B+C
Z=C-B

3) Schwierigkeit = 4,5. Offline Recherche (Bibliothek o.ä.)

Häftlingsnummer von Paul Dieroff in Dachau = ABCBBC

Dann berechnen sich daraus:
X=2*B+A
Y=A+3*B+C
Z=A+B+C+2

Final:
Die Koordinaten für den Final sind dann:
N53 38.X(Y+1)(Z-5) und E9 57.(X+2)(Y+1)(Y-Z-2)

Ich habe keinen Geochecker eingebaut, da Stage 1 ja physisch gefunden werden kann und um die Schwierigkeit für die Offline / Mystery Variante zu erhöhen.
Würde mich interessieren welche Variante ihr zur Lösung benutzt habt.

Für den Erstfinder (FTF) habe ich "Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank" in den Cache gelegt. Dies ist für Erwachsene gedacht oder Jugendliche älter als 12 Jahre. Bitte gebt dieses an Freunde weiter, wenn ihr es bereits kennt oder nicht interessiert daran seid. Danke.

Den Cache habe ich als kinderfreundlich eingestuft. Dies resultiert aus der leichten Zugänglichkeit der Stationen für Kinder. Inwieweit das Thema des Caches kindgerecht angesprochen/beantwortet werden sollte, überlasse ich jedem selbst.

Ich habe weiterhin den Cache als "NICHT zugänglich per Rollstuhl" markiert (Allerdings sind alle Stationen bis auf den Final m.E. per Rollstuhl erreichbar). Stage 1 und der Final sind mit dem Auto (Achtung kein Drive-by!), dem Fahrrad, zu Fuß oder über öffentliche Verkehrsmittel erreichbar (z.B. U2 Niendorf-Markt).

Wie immer gilt:
- alle Stationen befinden sich auf öffentlichem, frei zugänglichen Gelände
- besonders für Stage 1 muß KEIN Privatgrund betreten werden
- es müssen keine Zäune oder andere Absperrungen überquert werden
- bitte Rücksicht auf die Umgebung nehmen

Paul Dieroff

This Mystery Cache was built in memory of the scholar Paul Dieroff, who lived 1938 in Hamburg-Niendorf and finally died in a concentration camp. He was only 16 years old.

It has 3 stations: the start coordinates, Stage 1 and the Final. It can be solved with kids by feet in about 60 Minutes. The terrain rating is for the final only. The whole tour can be done with a stroller. It is recommended to go by bike or other (public) transport. At the final you are looking for the classic Ammo Box.

Start:
The starting coordinates have nothing to do with the cache.

Stage 1:
There are several possibilites to solve Stage 1:

1) Difficulty = 1,5. Search for the physical location:

Search for the Stolperstein of Paul Dieroff. Calculate the following variables with the help of the last date on the Stolperstein (Format: AB.AC.----) :

Then the variables for the final wil be calculated by:
X=B
Y=C+B
Z=2*C+A

2) Difficulty = 3. Internet research:

Number of the transport on which Paul Dieroff were deportated from Hamburg to Terezin = AB/C

Then the variables for the final wil be calculated by: (Mind the conversion of the latin digits!):

X=A
Y=B+C
Z=C-B

3) Difficulty = 4,5. Offline Research in the library

Prisoner number of Paul Dieroff in Dachau = ABCBBC

Then the variables for the final wil be calculated by:
X=2*B+A
Y=A+3*B+C
Z=A+B+C+2

Final:
The coordinates for the final are:

I havent build in a Geochecker, because Stage 1 can be found pbysically and to enhance the difficulty for the other possible approaches.
Please give a hint how you solved Stage 1 (without Spoilers of course).

For the first to find (FTF) i have placed the book "Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank". This is for adults or grown-ups from 12 years age on recommended. Please give it away to friends or relatives if you knew it already or you are not interested in the book. Tnx.

I have marked this cache as kids friendly, this is the result of the easy access to each station. I leave it up to you to tell your kids about the background of this cache.

I also marked the cache as not accessible for disabled persons. Nevertheless are all stations - except the final - reachable from a wheelchair. You can get to the starting point by car (parking lots see waypoints) by bicycle, per pedes or by public transport (e.g. U2 Niendorf-Nord).
