This summer my family went on a road trip for my birthday. I carefully planned out a route to hit some interesting spots, loaded the USGS maps into my PN-40, packed up the car, and we hit the road. Along the way we made some stops for some geocaching and other sightseeing. The kids were getting tired of stopping at random cemeteries, dams, parks, or other “boring” points of interest, so I gave them a game to play to keep them busy. They were to see how many out-of-state license plates they could find on cars we passed on the road. My son snapped some pictures of the plates he spotted. I asked him to pick his favorites; his gems are collected below.
