An ammo can just a few steps off trail.
The Basin Trail connects Big Basin State Park and Pescadero Creek County Park. It crosses private property between the two parks; an easement along the trail route allows legal passage for hikers and equestrians.
This cache is at a spot where our group of Deathmarchers got a little lost. The trail and a logging road meet here; we followed the road rather than the trail. Hopefully this cache will help you spot the trail signs and stay on the legal path!
The cache is a beautifully camo-ed ammo can. Dragonswest had it at an Unevent; he wanted someone to take it into the woods and hide it. I agreed to carry it on our Deathmarch, and figured this was a good spot for it. Initial cache contents are a bunch of plastic "lei" necklaces and a log.
Nearest trailhead is on China Grade, near "Hollow Tree Hangout" (GC1TZPA).
