While out in British Columbia and Albert for 17 days
on vacation touring around with the family in a motor home, we
spent most of the time driving through and exploring mountains.
With the exception of the last few days, it wasn’t hard to
spot a mountain were ever we were. It didn’t take long before
I realized how truly awesome these the mountains were in their size
and beauty. Part way through our vacation I realized that I have to
create a series of geocaches to share with others some of the
photographs I took of these wonderful giants and the views they
create.
Mt Marpole can be seen while visiting Emerald Lake.
The lake gets its colour from rock flour, fine dust ground from the
rock surface by glaciers as they move. The fine silt reflects a
beautiful emerald colour that gives Emerald Lake its name. The peak
rises to a height of 9,711 feet above sea level, with a prominence
5,380 feet above Emerald Lake.
You are looking for a small bison tube type
container. The cache only contains a log book, so be sure to bring
along a pen or pencil with you.
