Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Perfect Brew series.

How a flask works A vacuum flask, also commonly known as a thermos, is a container that keeps the contents housed inside it insulated from the effects of the outside environment, therefore keeping it hotter or cooler than the temperature on the outside of the flask. The vacuum flask was invented in 1892 by the Scottish scientist Sir James Dewar and was later produced commercially by the German company Thermos GmbH. The name of the company later became synonymous with the product itself. The key to the vacuum flask's insulating ability is its layered construction: a layer of glass and a layer of plastic or metal with a vacuum sandwiched in-between. Flask
