A short 2-stage multi-cache just outside the southern boundary of Fort Sam Houston. The cache is available at all times of day, but stage one will be much easier in the daylight.
If you have driven onto Fort Sam Houston recently, you have most likely heard the gate guard say the name of this cache to you right after checking your ID.
The posted coordinates take you to a pedestrian gate that is open Mon-Fri, 6am - 8pm except holidays. You do not need to go through the gate in order to complete this multi-cache. If you have proper ID and arrive during a time when the gate is open, you could enter the post on foot and see many cool and historic things in and around the Quadrangle including several places that are listed on waymarking.com. Whether or not you go through the gate, you should be able to see a year that is engraved above the "Sally Port" (that's what the entrance to the Quadrangle is called). Daylight and good eyesight will make seeing the engraving easier.
In order to find the final cache coordinates, take the 4 digit year that you see above the Sally Port and multiply it by 310. Take that answer and add 1095. That answer is ABCDEF. Use the answer to form the final coords: N 29° 26.ABC W 098° 27.DEF
