Geocache Description:

This cache is on the Erie Canal near the Day Road parking lot. The Day Road Bridge is a splendid bridge... ...if you like one lane bridges.

The approach on the north side of the canal is at a bit of an angle. When you cross the bridge from the south, you have to turn sharply to stay on the approach road. If you turn a little too sharply, you scrape the side of your car on piece of guardrail. I know this because Mrs. Mad M did this one day on her way to walk the canal. Put a nice dent and a scratch in the side of the minivan. The owner of the collision shop told me he LOVES that bridge. He gets LOTS of business from this bridge. So if you cross the canal on Day Road, watch out! I am not responsible if you scrape your car on the bridge. Better yet, find a different road!

The cache is NOT on the bridge but near the parking area. You are looking for a 1.2 Lock-n-Lock container. Lots of people use the canal so stealth may be needed. This is a good one for kids and dogs. Just keep your dog on a leash.

Dawn to Dusk. No nightcaching.

There are a bunch of awesome caches on the Erie Canal. We have two placed here. There are several more that have been placed here by other cachers. I have a bookmark list at the right. The trail can be walked or biked. Biking will get you to more caches faster. Either way, get out and enjoy the marvel that the Erie Canal is!

If you do cross the bridge, be sure to notice the rainbow of paint on the north end of the bridge. The Dodge Silver is ours...

Parking is at the posted coordinates, which is the parking lot at Day Road and North Canal Road.

I have included some swag. Please trade accordingly. Also, make sure the cover is secure when replacing the cache. Close cover before striking, your mileage may vary...

There is a special handmade pen for the FTF!
