Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in Takarazuka Kofun Koen Park.

There were 88 kofun found around this park and they were called Hanaoka Kofun Group. But most of them were destroyed by developing residential area, and only 2 kofun is saved in this park. First kofun is keyhole shape kofun that has 111m of length. A ship-shape haniwa (clay image placed in ancient burial mounds) was found in this kofun and it was designated as an Important Cultual Property with this kofun because it has characteristic shape. Second kofun looks like round shape, but it has very small rectangle part and classified as “scallop shell shape kofun”. These kofun was designated as National Historical Site.

キャッシュは宝塚古墳公園に隠されています。
この周辺にはかつて88基の古墳が存在し、花岡古墳群と呼ばれていました。しかし宅地開発などにより大半が失われ、この場所にある2基のみが残されています。1号墳は全長111mの前方後円墳で、伊勢国最大の古墳です。特徴的な船形埴輪が出土し、古墳とあわせて国の重要文化財に指定されました。2号墳は一見円墳に見えますが、非常に小さな前方部を持つ帆立貝式古墳です。1号墳とあわせて国の史跡に指定されていますが、一部が都市開発により損傷しています。
