A short walk around the lower slopes and village of Mayhill
May Hill is a hill between Gloucester and Ross-on-Wye, whose summit is on the western edge of Gloucestershire, though its northern slopes are in Herefordshire. It forms part of a low range of hills separating the River Severn from the River Wye. This walk will take you around the lower edge of the hill visiting some local landmarks and it should take about 90 mins to complete. Distance for both caches is about 2 miles round trip. The coordinates listed above for this cache are the parking coordinates. To find out the actual starting coordinates for this cache you need to do the cache Mayhill (The Folly, The Glasshouse, All Saints... GC2DMNE). Inside that cache the coordinates will be listed on a laminated card. You can do both caches on the same walk and it should take about 90 mins round trip for both from the carpark. These coordinates that you find in the GC2DMNE cache will take you to a structure on Mayhill. It'll be very obvious when you get there. A= the number of letters in the name of the structure (** Please note, its the name of the structure you're looking for NOT whats on the structure. Do not enter the field please **) From here head towards the cache via the waypoint below The final cache can be found at: N051 52.(A+2)99 W002 25.(A+1)73 Please make sure it is covered from both sides when you leave, thanks. Once you have found the cache and logged your find, continue up the path until you get to the road and turn slightly right and then a left to join up with the Public Footpath from the carpark you started from. The cache is a 1.8 litre sweet jar. You will find 2 logbooks in this cache, one for this one which you should sign as proof of finding it as usual. The other book is for the GC2DMNE Mayhill The Folly... which you more than likely will have done first. This logbook however is only an extension to the log book thats in that cache. You will need to have done GC2DMNE to be able to find this cache so make sure you've signed your name in that one first. Feel free to post a larger note here if you like, thanks. Enjoy the area and thanks to Gloucestershire County Council for letting us place this cache. ********** Congrats to Bredon Marshions on FTF ! ***********
