This is a BOAT ONLY cache. Cache is placed in honor of our friends, geocaching team Kodi&Barney's special day. (August 22, 2010) Here you will find a rectangle pelican style box.
Cache is located on the beautiful glacial carved shores of Seneca Lake. Cache is placed high enough that the water will not reach it. There is a narrow stretch of beach perfect for a kayak or canoe to pull up to. A larger boat may have to anchor a little ways from the shore and then wade in. Please wear life jackets when boating to this cache as Seneca Lake is over 600 feet deep and remains very cold in many spots all year round.
When at ground zero the dock to your left belongs to muggles. They are very friendly and know about the placement of the cache. If they are around their dog, Black might come to say hi as he did with us. Cache is located on the private beach of some caching friends.
Because of the cliffs here gps reception might be sketchy. Keep this in mind while looking. At the water's edge we had a reading of 9 feet. When at the cache we had a reading of 13 feet. Cache is about 5 feet off the ground.
