Geocache Description:

Genoa Love The Candy Dance! Hounds and hares will especially "rock" out at this one! Lots of goodies in this camo cache including a Geocoin. BYOP.

Genoa, NV is the state's oldest settlement. Originally Mormon Station, it was later renamed Genoa. But get it right, it's pronounced "Juh-no-ah" not "Jen-oh-wah". So make sure to say it right if you stop in town. Lots of great history in a town as old as this one. Candy Dance founder Lillian Virgin Finnegan started the Candy Dance as a fund raiser for street lights in 1919. Candy stores were called upon every year after to hold another Candy Dance to pay for electric bills. Over 90 years later the Candy Dance is still a yearly event that draws revenue for the town.
