Geocache Description:

It has ben remarked that this can be difficult to approach in winter. So bring your best wellies.

We were out for a wander and happened to have a cache ready in our rucksack (well, who leaves home without a spare cache?) This location was just crying out for somethig to be hidden in it!

In winter this one's slippery.

Crawfordsburn country park is a great day out. There's ample space for picnics, barbecues, really good provision for visitors (toilets, loads of parking, etc.), a beach, seaside walks, forest walks - the list is endless. There are EVEN rumoured to be some geocaches around!

PARK OPENING TIMES

From 30th March -30 September

open from 9.00am - 8.00pm everyday

From September 30th the Park will be open from 9.00am - 4.45pm

Visitor Centre open 10.00am - 5.00 pm

Permission to place this cache took quite a while to obtain, but was relatively straightforward and I would encourage more folk to try to place caches on this type of property. Many thanks to all who were involved in making this cache possible, in particular the Warden of Crawfordsburn Country Park who gave kind permission and who will be ensuring that the cache remains of a sufficiently high standard for the Park.

Don't expect to be able to accurately pinpoint GZ by GPS alone. There is a lot of foilage. When placing the cache, even with averaging, we could only get a reading accurate to about 20ft.
