A medium sized cache in the southwest part of Beavers Bend State Park. Enter the park on Highway 259A and pass the Visitor Center. You'll park just North of the entrance to Southern Hills cabin area and hike the Bee Branch trail. The trail goes North OR West/Northwest from this trail head. Take the Northern path about 250 yards. The cache is about 30 yards off the path.
We originally hid this cache in the rusting abandoned refridgerator in the woods, but it wound up getting muggled. This year we went back and re-hid it in a more conspicuous place. The coordinates will take you to the rusty fridge. The new hiding place is only 20 yards away. You'll have to use your treasure hunting skills to find this one now. It is medium sized, so you shouldn't have any real trouble though.
We hid this cache on our first dads and daughters campout on the last weekend before 1st grade. Five members of the UNDEFEATED Pink Ponies team of 2009 signed the log and left an assortment of small geoswag for the first finders. Sign our log and tell us your hometown. Please leave us some treasures so that when we come back we can find some surprises.
You need to hike about 250 yards north from the road on a marked trail. The medium sized cache is about 20 yards off the trail. Look for a large uprooted tree to know that you are in the area.
Check out the other Bee Branch Trail cache by heading West/Northwest from the same trailhead. It is about 600 yards from the same trailhead, so you can hit two caches with one parking spot.
