Geocache Description:

A small camo covered lock-n-lock, with room for a few trade items and the babbling voice of a beautiful river.

The Pottawatomi river drops over the Niagara Escarpment at Jones Falls, and empties into Georgian Bay, beside Kelso Beach in Owen Sound. While there is some excellent fishing down stream, this portion is better enjoyed as you sit and listen to the quiet and peaceful babble of the waters.

The river is named after the Pottawatomi Indian nation, who along with the Saugeen Ojibway, and the Odawa, formed the Council of Three Fires Confederacy. That was back in the day when the first French trappers and missionaries were visiting the Bruce. The Pottawatomi people distinguished themselves as great warriors, during the Battle of Blue Mountain, but that story should be saved for another cache.

FTF was shared by emmieo and the_lighthouse_gang.
Special congratulations go to Lakeside Lucy who celebrated their 100th milestone here on Sept 28, 2011.
Well done !

Happy Hunting.
