Gwyddno: Sorry but the cache has been stolen. I say stolen, as it was my property placed there with the written permission of the landowner. I'm a bit angry about this, as it was a unique, homemade container.

I don't have the materials to make another: the dome headed, A4 stainless, 20mm nuts were expensive, even from eBay. This is the second time that the cache has been taken, so I think it's time to cut my losses.

Thank you for all of the kind comments from folk who found the cache.

Arthog Creek

This cache is located on the bridge at the former site of Arthog railway station. The railway opened in 1867, for shipping slate from Arthog quarry. It opened to passenger traffic on the 28th March 1870 and closed on the 18th January 1965. The station yard is now the Snowdonia National Park car-park and the station buildings were located above it. The original platform was wooden but this was replaced by a 55 foot long concrete platform in 1933.

The disused railway now forms Llwybr Mawddach, the Mawddach Trail. It is owned & maintained by the Snowdonia National Park and you can find more information about it on their website. There is a free Snowdonia National Park car park right next to the cache-site.

Owing to the unique (home-made!) nature of the container, if this one goes missing it'll be a while before it's replaced. Some of the components are a bit expensive! PLEASE: re-hide the cache exactly as you've found it.
