Valdosta's Brickyard 400 Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

TeamBulldawg: As much as we hate to do this, we have to take this one down. There is new construction going on with the replacement of a major culvert line and a new business moving into the area. There will no longer be access to the geocache.

Geocache Description:

No this isn't about racing but when you get to it, you will see why we named it this way. Located close to a business that specializes in this area.

This is our first multicache and we hope it is worth the hunt. The first stage you seek is right in front of your eyes and should be easy to figure out. Once you see it you can figure out the coordinates to the final stage. (There is a small dirt road between two local business's that will be used to drive down to this first stage. If it has rained, this could be a problem with the mud. It might be a little smelly if the wind is blowing just right.)

After getting the new coordinates, you might follow a "black path" to get to the final destination. That is if you look where you walk. Don't veer far off of it or you might get wet. Veer the other way and you'll be fighting jungle. It is not a long walk but use care as it could be across terrain that is uneven. Choose wisely your entry point as it is very thick with vegetation.

When you arrive at the final destination it will only be a short distance in the woods. If you chose wisely the path, you will see colored streamers ahead of you on the path. Do not go towards the streamers hanging as you first enter the woods as that is the wrong direction.

Look close and hard to find the prize you seek. Take care that you log your entry specifically on the log that is provided in the container to receive credit for the find. It also has a few trinkets inside. No need to bring a pen as one is inside it too. The final cache container is a camoed plastic bottle with a screw top lid. (About the size of a very large peanut butter container.)

Rated as a 2.5 originally but we changed it to a 3 based on the hide. A key point is if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Have a good time with this one as we sure did when we hid it.

(NOTE: While parking at my first stage to get the Brickyard, also take time to get Don't Bug Me, placed by Yarddogg73TCF which is also close by in the area)

Congrats (again) to Jest91 for his 2 hour Odyssey on being the FTF!!! (Thanks also for finding my glasses I dropped in the weeds)
