Lake View Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

JonathanJimbo: I have decided to archive this cache as apparently the hiding place has completely rotted and the DNFs suggest the cache has gone missing. Unfortunately I am no longer in the area and am therefore unable to maintain it.

Geocache Description:

Lake View is a microcache situated on the Jurassic Way near Fineshade Woods.

The co-ordinates listed above aren’t for the cache, they are for a possible parking space on the verge of the A43 next to the entrance to the Jurassic Way footpath.  It is probably more sensible, though a longer walk, to park at Top Lodge car park within Fineshade Woods and get on to the Jurassic Way from this end.  The car park is pay and display, and allows access to woods, walks and  a cafe.

This walk has spectacular views and if accessed from the A43 goes past Fineshade Abbey which is on the site of St. Mary’s Augustine Priory.  There are views from the cache of private lake belonging to an impressive looking house.

To obtain the co-ordinates of the cache, you need so solve a little anagram. An anagram is word problem where the letters a jumbled up in a random order. To make it a little harder we are missing out one letter (*),you have to find out what the letter is, and then rearrange all the letters to make a word. Finally, assign a number value according to the position of the letter in the word.

For example if the anagram “odro” is rearranged to “door”, then:

D = 1

1st O = 2

2nd O = 3

R = 4

A bit harder, if “ *rodw” is rearranged to “sword”, then:

S = 1

W = 2

O = 3

R = 4

D = 5

Now it is your turn.  The anagram is:  E, A, H, C, O, *, E, C.  Convert the word into numbers and then substitute into the co-ordinates below:

N52o   34 . (1st E)(2nd C – 6)(H)      W000o   3(A – 2) . (H)(2nd C)(1st E)

Now you have solved the puzzle you can set off for the cache.

Good luck!

This cache is a micro because it is hidden in a nice place, in a micro size hole. Do not log anything negative about the fact that it is only a micro and not anything bigger. I have decided not to give any clues for this cache, however, if you need a hand then drop me an email.
