This is an ammo cache half way up Signal Hill. The intent was to provide a large enough container for exchanging and moving travel bugs and geo coins. It can also be used for regular cache.
The best approach is across from the Geo Centre on the road to Signal Hill. Walk toward the harbour. The terrain is not difficult. There is an old road and path that leads to the cache. By keeping to the path you will avoid any climbing or loose rocks.The cache is found within a metre of the path and hidden among rocks. It is no longer covered, but is hidden between large rocks with smaller rocks piled in front of it. Please return it to this same spot.
This area provides a spectacular view of St. John's Harbour. It is generally away from the public but you do need to be careful of muggles watching from the hill tops.
