About Carson Park:
Over one hundred years ago, a local man named Luther F. Carson began bottling and selling a new soft drink in Paducah called Coca-Cola. Through his hard work, the small bottling company gradually grew and expanded into 18 bottling plants.
Luther F. Carson’s contributions and support of the Paducah community over the years were numerous; among his significant gifts was the land for Carson Park. The park was donated to the county in 1936 "for horse shows, county fairs, and horse training".
The park is located on Joe Clifton Drive at 28th & Madison. The covered grandstand seats 3,300 people. Various activities are held at the park during the year including the McCracken County Fair, Labor Day Festivities, The Lions Club Gas and Steam Engine Show, and the Southern Horse Owners & Exhibitors Horse Show.
The park has a 1/2 Mile limestone track. Horse stall rental is available. The park is owned and maintained by McCracken County.
