Incheon Airport TB
Hotel
Incheon International Airport
is located 70 km (43 mi) west of Seoul, the capital and largest
city of South Korea. The Airport is the main hub for Korean Air,
Asiana Airlines and Polar Air Cargo and is currently Asia's eighth
busiest airport in terms of passengers, the world's fifth busiest
airport in terms of cargo and freight, and the world's eleventh
busiest airport in terms of international passengers in 2006. This
airport has been consecutively rated as the best airport in the
world since 2005. Since today, it has one new facility - a TB/GC
hotel nearby.
The purpose of this cache,
besides being a traditional cache people find, is to allow people
to leave their TBs/GCs on this crossroad and send them to the
world. It is regular-size cache hidden in a distance reachable in
couple of minutes by shuttle bus and walk or some 30-40 minutes of
a quick walk. The quickest way to arrive to the cache
from the airport is to take a free shuttle bus from the departure
hall (about 10 mins) get off at the Airport Administration Building
and walk towards the cache following GPS signal. If you have more
time and want to stretch your legs after the long flight a bit, it
will be a 30-40 minutes walk to the cache. Go straight from the
terminal, passing by the Airport Express Station, a huge long-term
parking lot and after you cross the road by a bridge just follow
your GPS signal.
When approached from Korea,
you can either come by Airport Bus and then simply follow the
advice for approaching the cache from the airport or you can come
by car. In such a case you can either use a parking lot of a
kindergarten nearby or parking lot of the Airport Admin. Building
(there is some parking fee).
Do not forget to visit the
other caches nearby: GC1C03C and GC1C3YF.
There is a rule regarding
the TBs & GCs:
When you retrieve a trackable (TB, Geocoin)
from the cache insert at least the same number of
trackables. If you do not intend to leave a trackable just
"discover" them. There is an exception to this rule. You can
retrieve the trackable (and not drop one) if you are going to take
it at least 1000 km / 600 mi away. I believe the purpose of
these rules is obvious. If not send me an email.
Note: I intended to
have the cache nearer to the Terminal building in order to allow
geocachers to run out from the Terminal to log it even if they do
not stay in Korea. The original position did not pass, so this is
the closest possible.
