A lovely seat dedicated to Mary MacLachlan.
Park at Russell School. Find the zig-zag track on the corner of Chapel and Ashby Streets. The path looks like someone's driveway. The track starts at the Bellrock Bed and Breakfast sign. We used an old GPS, so use our clues as well. The seat is in memory of Mary MacLachlan, who retired to Russell in 1985 with her husband Kent. Mary, a keen gardener planted trees and shrubs and as her favourite colour was pink, many plants had flowers of that hue. Her gardening extended across the road to the small reserve which had previously been overgrown. Mary was a keen tennis player, and also loved taking part in outrageous skits. The seat expresses her personality so well. (The seat used to be pink! As she lived "Inn the Pink". Her house was pink. Have replaced the initial micro magnet (3 lost or taken) with a bigger container! You can leave TBs now.
