This Cache is located near Llantwit Major Fire Station.
I’ve given it a difficulty rating of 2 not because of the
terrain but more to do with the amount of Muggles that could be
around, so Stealth is a must. You will also need to bring a pen. It
is on a slight hill but should be no problem for Buggies. Please
replace the cache as you found it.
The main reason we decided to place it here is because of our
two year old son who loves Fire Engines, every time we drive past
he says Nee-Nor, Nee-Nor hence the title.
The current station opened in April 1960 and is manned by 11
retained personnel. It also has a Young Firefighters Scheme which
was set up in partnership with Vale Youth Services in November
2004. The station provides cover to a population of around 23,000
people for Llantwit and surrounding areas. It is home to one Pump
Ladder (4x4) and one Foam Tender (4x4), it also has one Water
Tender that is used by the Young Firefighters.
Llantwit Major Coastguard shares the site with the station, which
again is manned by volunteers, these provide cover to the local
area.
Parking is available next to the Cache, if you want to have a
look around Llantwit Major then there is plenty of parking
available in the town.
