Geocache Description:

Betaald parkeren kan in de buurt in de parkeergarage of op het parkeerterrein van Batavia Stad. (zie additional waypoints P1 en P2)

In het hart van de voormalige Zuiderzee is een nieuwe haven verrezen: Bataviahaven bij Lelystad. Een aanloophaven voor (zeil)schepen, charter- en passagiersvaart, met alle denkbare faciliteiten en tal van attracties in de directe omgeving. Een overzichtsfoto met rechts onderin de bebouwde havenkom. Er is nog slechts één appartementencomplex gebouwd. Linksboven zijn ook de Houtribsluizen en het begin van de Markerwaarddijk te zien. In het midden zijn tal van bezienswaardigheden en toeristische attracties te vinden, waaronder een replica van de Batavia, de Bataviawerf, Bataviastad (outletcenter dat jaarlijks ruim twee miljoen bezoekers trekt) en het Nieuwland erfgoed centrum.		In the heart of the former Zuiderzee, a new harbor has risen: Bataviahaven at Lelystad. A port of call for (sailing)ships, charter and passenger traffic, with all possible facilities and numerous attractions in the immediate vicinity. An overview of the urban basin is at the bottom right. There is only one of five apartment complexes built so far. Top left are the Houtribsluizen and the beginning of the Markerwaard Dijk. In the middle are many sights and tourist attractions, including a replica of the Batavia, the Batavia Shipyard, Bataviastad (outlet center that annually attracts over two million visitors) and Nieuwland heritage center.

De haven is onlangs uitgeroepen tot beste charterhaven in Nederland en er worden jaarlijks tal van evenementen georganiseerd, variërend van internationale zeilwedstrijden tot diverse botenshows, waaronder de Nationale Sloepenshow. De havenkom wordt rondom gefaseerd bebouwd met een vijftal appartementencomplexen waarvan de eerste al geheel is opgeleverd. Er wordt ook druk gewerkt aan de boulevard waaraan gezellige restaurants en terrasjes en winkels gevestigd zullen worden.		The port has recently been voted best charter port in the Netherlands and there are many events annually, ranging from sailing to various international boat shows, including the National Sloops Show. Around the basin, five apartment complexes will be build with only the first of which is fully completed. They're also busy working on the boulevard where cozy restaurants, cafes and shops will be located.
