Awalk along the banks of the river avon the area opens here right next Muiravonside ,a small detour and you can rest your legs with a wee cuppa and work out the final coordinates of the Bonus cache

The River Avon Trails lets you explore, on foot, nine miles of spectacular scenery between Avonbridge and Linlithgow. The Trails can be walked in either direction and is accessible at a number of points along the River. The River Avon flows downstream in long calm straits, over weirs and waterfalls and through narrow gorges as it winds its way through the countryside. The River Avon has been responsible for many historical, cultural and geological features which can still be glimpsed along the Trail. geocaching The blend of sights, sounds and smells also indicates the rich variety of plants, birds and animals that is supported by the River. No matter which season you use the Trail, you will enjoy the River’s changing character and its surrounding landscape. Extra clue for those people who actually read the cache page, you could start the series from this side and it will make it much easier to locate the final bonus cache. The Trail generally follows the riverbank and has been left as natural as possible. In some places, therefore, the route can be uneven, narrow or muddy. At some points you will climb above the River using surfaced paths and steps. Boardwalks, stiles and gates are also found on the Trail. Appropriate footwear is advised to ensure your walk is comfortable and enjoyable. Fingerposts, signboards and interpretation panels help to guide and inform you along the way. Everyone has the right to be on most land and inland water providing that they act responsibly. Your access rights and responsibilities are explained fully in the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. Whether you are enjoying the outdoors or managing it, the key things are to: • take responsibility for your own actions • respect people’s privacy and peace of mind • help farmers, landowners and others to work safely and effectively • care for the environment • keep your dog under proper control • leave gates as you find them.
