Geocache Description:

Close to the top of the peak, with views all around. You can see Ripple Ridge to the south, Kelly and Beaver Lookouts westerly and Old Glory even further in the distance.

Just below the summit of the Salmo Creston Highway, a narrow STEEP road takes off to the NW. This road can be driven with 4X4 or quad, but it is very narrow in places and the surface is rocky (sharp rocks at times).

We hid these three caches in hopes of enticing our friends the Kootenay Pirates to celebrate their 10,000 find with a hike!!!

You are looking for a camoed tobacco tin. The elevation at the cache is 2135 metres.

Have fun yah pirates. The Kootenay Pirates are very near 10,000 caches found. We are hoping they will make this one 10,000! If not, perhaps it can be the start of the next 10,000! These cachers epitomize the true spirit of caching. As well, no cache eludes them for difficulty or terrain. They are truly good friends.

The terrain is based on hiking from the highway -- you know we didn't (we quadded)!! If you hike, there is ample parking across the highway at a pullout. Just take care crossing the highway. Take plenty of drinking water, as streams are very limited.
