Geocache Description:

Groundspeak is on a mission, and you can be a Great Tennessee Geocacher helping them fulfill their noble desire to set a new record of the most geocachers logging a cache in one day.

Wow, what a turnout!! Thanks to each one of you for making this 10-10-10 Event an awesome time today!!

Here's what Groundspeak had to say. "Plan to Go Geocaching on 10-10-10 We want to see how many geocachers can go geocaching on a single day! We've chosen 10-10-10, since the date represents 10 years of geocaching and 10 years of Groundspeak in 2010. Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your worst enemy (if that's what it takes) and let's see if we can beat the previous record of 56,654 accounts logging on April 18, 2010. Even one log counts since we are counting how many accounts log a cache rather than the number of caches logged." I am going to help you help Groundspeak by offering you a 1/1 event cache that will even offer drive-thru convenience! Just drive to the event location, pull into the parking area next to the covered pavilion and we'll even bring the event log to you to sign. NOTICE: Absolutely NO curb side service for a hot dog! You have to get out of the car for that!

Just be in line at 10:10AM

OK, most of us have been to an event before. Many of us even met at this exact same location to celebrate Groundspeak's 10 Year Anniversary! (Hey, there's another Ten!)

At this event there will be some special door prizes and there will be a free HOT DOG COOKOUT too.

Photobucket

A special commemorative event photograph will be made at exactly 10:10:10 a.m.. on 10/10/10. Everyone that is in the photo will receive a small collectible gift as a "token" of their attendance.

There will be a drawing for 10 sets of different collectible geo-tokens selected from my lifetime collection. Some may be my design, some will be from others. Some might even be from foreign countries like Michigan and Kentucky.

If you would like to bring something to go with the hot dogs (but certainly not required), please post what you are bringing in your "Will Attend" note. I will update this page with what the wonderful geocachers of this area will be bringing.

10:10:10 am 10/10/10 Event Menu

Want to bring something to share at the event? Let everyone know what you are bringing when you post a note that you will attend, and I will update the information here. Need an idea? We can always use catsup, mustard, pickles, onions, pork and beans, potato salad, potato chips, cookies, sodas, tea, and ice.

Everyone has been so gracious and signed up to bring so much, I am sure we will be well stocked to feed any and all geocachers and their friends and guests. If you are debating on whether or not to come, and worried that you might not be able to bring something,PLEASE JUST COME TO THE EVENT. The greatest thing you can bring is your company, your stories, and especially your smiles.

10:10:10 am 10/10/10 Activities and Entertainment

Welcome to Geocaching Olympics! What is an event without door prizes? And for those who have been to one of my events before, you know we have to have some door prizes. So, how about some fun events that will have some fun door prizes including "Trailmarkers". What's a trailmarker? Well, it's a small shiny metal disc with a hole in it, and it is colorful and features a geocaching design. We just can't use the "real name" for them, so I am going to call them TrailMarkers.

Still don't know what they are? Send me a private message and I'll be happy to explain.

OK, here are some of the events that we'll be holding:
