Geocache Description:

National Cycle Route 94 circles Lough Neagh mostly close to the shore on quiet rural roads and some traffic free sections - totalling 113 miles of mostly flat terrain.

There are already quite a few caches on or close to the route but I hope to add a few more - (I need more regular rest stops when cycling!) This one is close to the boundary wall of the Shane's Castle estate - famous for many years for the light steam railway that took many visitors on a short journey into the past to the loughshore and mostly ruined Shane's Castle. Sadly, the railway closed in 1994 and access to the castle is now restricted to a few festivals and events during the year - the Mayday Steam Rally and Summer Game Fair being the main ones - still well worth a visit if you can.

There is parking right beside the cache for non-cyclists and although the cache should be an easy find it might be a bit of a stretch to retrieve and replace. The cache is a camoflaged 2L tablock box with plenty of room for swaps and trackables.
