Lock 'n' lock at Quiet Cove Park
Now that this waterfront park has reopened, it’s time for a few more caches here. Quiet Cove Park is located on the west side of Route 9, just north of Marist College. Park hours, as posted on-line, are 9am to 8pm until Labor Day, then 9am to 7pm. The west side of the park is enclosed by a 6 foot high chain link fence, but this cache is on the east side - no fences
This is my kind of cache – small parking lot nearby, short scenic walk on a wide trail, and a place to sit and sign the log. I’ll leave it as a challenge for you to find the closest parking lot in the park (it’s not the main lot).
This area is called Twin Oaks, and presumably has lots of acorns. But this cache is the only acorn woodpecker we’ll find around here. Acorn woodpeckers are found on the west coast and through Central America.
