Grab your bike or walking shoes to access this series of
caches along the WV 9 bike trail. I prefer the bike, you can make
quick work of these caches if your biking.
With this section of Route 9 still closed, this is a very
quiet and nice bike ride. There are some hills but they are gentle
and rolling. We sure enjoyed placing these caches.
This series of caches is located on the new bike path, which
is still under construction in some parts, and is adjacent to the
new and improved WV 9. The construction of this path is planned for
the entire 10-mile section of Route 9 between Martinsburg and the
Virginia line. It will be several years before we see the entire
project completed.
There is parking at both ends of the bike trail or at many of
the cross connection points along the way. This cache is what
remains of a real Snapping Turtle. This guy was living in my pond
until his recent demise. After several hours of cleaning, then
painting, he is now a Geocache. Please very carefully with it! It
is fragile. Please replace it EXACTLY as found so no one will step
on it.
