Geocache Description:

Fen Alder Carr is located on the outskirts of Creeting St. Peter near Needham Market. The cache is located along the public highway just outside the boundary fence of the Nature Reserve. However the trip through the Fen itself is a short journey over a purpose made board-walk which is wheel chair and buggy friendly. Car Parking is available at the reserve which is at the starting co-ordinates.

The cache is a simple offset, (3 stage multi), as these are my favourite types.

Firstly the listed co-ordinates are for the notice board located in the car park.

You will need to read the notice board in order to gather the simple information required for the off-set cache location.

The year the Fen was shown on the map as a pasture = ABCD

Then walk to the end of the board-walk and count the number of viewing platforms there are = E

The cache is hidden at :

N52 10.(E)(E)(B-C)

E001 03.(A)(D)(D-C)

The cache is a click-fast 150 ml click-fast plastic container in camo bag and at the time of placing contained:

Log Book, Pencil, Sharpener, Geocaching Info Doc
First To Find Badge
Clip on Pen, Bouncy Ball, Ladybird Rubber, Shopping Trolly Token Key Ring, Rubber Snake, Parachutist, Hand Wipe.

SOME INFO:
Perhaps one of the most mysterious spots in a County blessed with them; this is an intriguing woodland of large alder trees, ditches and a pond. Follow the boardwalk round the wood in to the large open area of fen and you almost step out of time. The perfect place to soak up some of the sense of ancient, unspoilt mystery so characteristic of the Suffolk countryside. Sitting in the heart of the Gipping Valley, Fen Alder Carr was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1982, and is managed for people and wildlife. On your visit you may see an array of wild life including newts, moorhens and water voles.
