Geocache Description:

A small grave of two British soldiers killed during the Battle of Thukela Heights.

While doing maintenance on the trenches cache I walked further up the hill from the trenches and discovered this lonely grave off in the distance. There is a trail and a road that leads to these graves but I do not think it will be easily accessible during the months when there is long grass. In the same instance this grass also hides these graves from view. I was fortunate to see these as a fire had gone through the area and burnt all the grass... You will have to hike to this one from the trenches although just before the trenches there is a jeep track to the left that goes up to the graves. You will not be able to do this in a sedan but a high clearance vehicle will make it. But this is a very seldom traveled road and will most likely be overgrown most of the year.

It is a pity as this is like the soldiers who had died here... another one of those forgotten sites. Unlike the rest in the area, this is overgrown with grass and not neatly kept like the others. A pity really as every man should be remembered here, known or as these two, unknown...

These men fought in a land they did not know... brave soldiers in a foreign land far from family, far from home... forgotten in time... lets remember them... May their souls rest in peace...
