camp horn memorial Traditional Cache

In keeping with all my other caches, this is 1) hard to reach, 2) historically significant, or 3)both. This is a #2, but there is some driving.
The cache is located in what was once a part of General George S. Patton's Desert Training Center, and this was the entrance to Camp Horn. This camp was one of a number which were established during 1942-43
This little-known, and seldom-seen memorial was erected to memorialize seven men killed in a training accident.
The cache is located within site of the memorial. It is a small bombproof container of pvc pipe. Bring a pen, and sign the log. There is little room for leaving items. Access road is dirt the last 2 miles. Messy in wet weather, but should be passable in any case.
