The Robert Findlay Wildlife Reserve, about 25 ha, is situated at Miranda on the south-western coast of the Firth of Thames in northern New Zealand. The reserve is an internationally important habitat for shorebirds, providing a stopover and feeding site for up to 25 000 birds at a time, most of which are migratory wading species.
From the cache hide, over a fence, its a 10 minutes walk to the bird watchers hideout, and from there you can follow a marked track all the way to the Shorebird Centre, and back (about a one hour walk)
Read the sign on site for more info.
