Žalostna gora šteje med biserov Dolenjske. Lepota in zgodivina te pokrajine sta bila nam zelo všec, ko smo obiskali Slovenijo. Tako smo se odlocili nastaviti tu en cache. Domaci prijatelji, ki so nas spremljevali v cache-turo, so tudi obljubili da bodo cache botrovali za nas. Najlepša hvala :-) Prosimo da ravnate dobro z cacheom in da ga spet skrivajte kot ste ga našli.
Kratek opis Žalostne gore
Žalostna gora pri Mokronogu je dobila ime po Žalostni Materi Božji, kateri je cerkev na vrhu tudi posvecena. Gradili so jo od leta 1697 pa do leta 1735. Z grica je lep razgled od vrhov severno od Save nad Sevnico preko Kuma do Zaplaza. Vidimo lahko kar 32 cerkva. Nasproti pa ji stoji sestrinska cerkev na Veseli Gori. Na podnožju hriba kapelice je postavljenih 5 kapelic in v vsaki je slika križevega pota. V steno svetih stopnic pa sta vdelani še dve Marijini žalosti.
Žalostna gora is for sure one of the treasures of Dolenska area. When visiting Slovenia we really enjoyed the beauty and the history of the place. And so we decided to place a cache there. Our local friends guiding us on our caching tour offered to take over the maintenace for us. Thanks a lot ;-) So please treat the cache well and hide it as you found it.
We want to provide some historical information about the hill and the church.
Žalostna gora pri Mokronogu was named after Our Lady of Sorrows, to whom the church on the top of the hill is dedicated. The construction of the church lasted from 1697 to 1735. From the hill is a wonderful view of the peaks north of the Sava above Sevnica across Mount Kum to Mount Zaplaz where as many as 32 churches can be seen. Opposite this church stands its sister church on Mount Vesela Gora. At the foot of the hill stand five small chapels, each with a painting of one of the Stations of the Cross. Two of the sorrows of Mary are incorporated in the wall of the holy staircase.
