Geocache Description:

Cache # 2 on Mr. Science’s Cache Trail

This cache is a small lock and lock container containing spectroscopes for all who find the cache. First to find gets an awesome prize.

The next cache on the trail is Diana’s Three Beeches!

How is it that leprechauns and rainbows and pots o’ gold became linked with each other? I’m sure that many people know the mnemonic device for remembering the order of colors in the rainbow, ROYGBIV. Each letter stands for a color: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. It turns out there was a leprechaun named Roy G. Biv who hid his gold where the rainbow touched the ground, supposedly in a pot, but that’s never been proven. I do know that there happens to be a leprechaun that lives in woods near this trail, who has hidden a geocache containing rainbow makers. It is rumored that he has also hidden five gold coins somewhere within 77 meters (sorry for the metrics, but I am Mr. Science!) of his cache. I actually found them once, put them in my pocket, and tried to set a waymark with my GPS. Next thing I know I woke up befuddled and nauseated in the middle of the woods 77 meters away from the cache site, and no waymark in my GPS unit, and … no gold. I think that trying to waymark a leprechaun’s stash opens up a small wormhole in space and transports you some distance from the spot. That’s my theory, … it’s probably wrong. My other theory is that I should have checked the expiration date on my milk that morning before putting it on my Lucky Charms. That’s more likely. Anyway, the question remains, is there hidden gold near this cache? Perhaps someone will find it, … just don’t try to waymark it!

Please take a spectroscope with you. You do not have to trade anything. And of course, put the cache back the way you found it.
