Geocache Description:

Cache # 3 on Mr. Science’s Cache Trail

You are looking for a film canister, log only. This cache is approximately 200 feet off the main marked trail. Make a waypoint, keep your track log on, or we may find you washed up on the beach. That reminds me. In the opening scene in the movie JAWS, a young woman gets eaten by the shark. How did they know that she had dandruff? See the hint for the answer.
The next cache on the trail is Vertical Rocks.

Thousands of years ago Otsego County was once completely covered by an inland sea. This is why we often find fossils of sea life in the shale rocks. What most people don’t know is that many of these creatures are still living and can easily be found in the forests of central NY. Mr. Science often find shells of scallops and clams that are not fossilized, yet how can they survive this far from the ocean? I believe these marine creatures are able to survive by living near the roots of “beach” trees. Another theory from Mr. Science that’s probably wrong!

My wife (Mrs. E.L.A.) loves spending time at the beach and I have hidden this cache near her favorite one. Which one is it? You’ll know when you find it!

Cache may be hard to find in winter. Cache can be gotten to without going through thorns.
